Bookworm: Tips to Incorporate Books into your Space

We at T.O Interior Design love books. We think they are a great way to help tie a space all together - of course with the help of other decorative elements. So what’s not to love?

Here are some tips from our CEO and founder, Theresa Obermoser, to incorporate books into your space, as featured in Redfin’s blog post 15 Creative and Stunning Book Organisation Ideas to Refresh Your Collection. Make sure to check it out!

I love to see an interesting book spine on display that compliments the one above or below, and the colours in the room.
Start with the largest book as a base and stack about four or five high.
If there is a less popular book, I would keep that towards the bottom of the pile.
It’s also a lovely way to create a plinth for decorations and candles.

To begin your book decorating journey, here are a few book titles we are currently loving:

1. Jacquemus Photo Books

The two Jacquemus photo books Marseille Je T’aime and Images are an absolute Instagram favourite. Compiled of images taken by Simon Porte Jacquemus himself - with only just an iPhone - these books are a glimpse into the essence of his brand. We love the material texture of the hardcover too!

2. Assouline Travel Books

Another big Instagram favourite! These travel books transport you to your city of choice through curated images and text. Super vibrant hardcovers plus so many cities to choose from - you are bound to find one fit for your liking (or fit for your space!)

Bonus! Contact us at info@tointeriordesign.com to get your hands on one today!

3. Recipe Books

Pictures of food = you can’t go wrong! This one titled Australian Food by Bill Granger is a sure hit with its beautiful hardcover and amazing recipes inside.

Fun fact: Bill Granger owns the cafe Granger and Co. in Notting Hill - just down the road from our London showroom on Westbourne Grove!

What are some books you have in your space, and what are some you are keen to get your hands on? Let us know!
