Nestled in the bohemian heart of Notting Hill, this meticulously renovated duplex showcases a harmonious blend of Victorian charm and modern sophistication. Built in 1890 and proudly retaining its Grade II listed status, the home features classic architectural details—ornate ceiling moldings, high ceilings, and expansive windows—that create a timeless backdrop for a fresh, contemporary aesthetic.
The main living area on the first floor is flooded with natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows, highlighting the room’s neutral palette and understated elegance. Here, the walls are finished in a pale beach shade by Detail CPH, with a plastered texture that adds depth and warmth to the open-plan space. A custom-made velvet sofa in deep red anchors the living room, complemented by a Nordic Knots rug and a striking floral chandelier by April Rose, which brings an organic, whimsical touch to the room. Accented with vintage brass sconces and sculptural pieces, this space balances vibrant energy with a serene, inviting atmosphere.
In the kitchen and dining area, a thoughtful mix of natural materials and clean lines elevates the aesthetic. The spacious island and countertops are clad in a luxurious Taj Mahal stone, adding an earthy richness that contrasts beautifully with the minimalist cabinetry and streamlined fixtures. Custom shelving holds carefully curated decor items, including hand-crafted ceramics and rustic wood elements, creating a lived-in yet refined feel. The lighting fixtures by Apparatus and Maharishi wall lamps bring subtle drama and a warm glow to the space.
On the ground floor, the design is bolder, with striking materials chosen to reflect the home’s unique character. The bathroom showcases a statement Calacatta Vagli Rosatto stone for the sink and shower tray, paired with masculine grey microcement walls. The powder room embraces a dramatic “forest” theme, with Bellagio Glamour wallpaper and a mirrored wall that expands the sense of space, accompanied by a compact brown Emperador marble sink. Every detail in this home is chosen to evoke a sense of artistry and craftsmanship, from the vintage pieces to the tailored, functional elements.
This Notting Hill duplex is more than just a stylish residence; it’s a thoughtfully curated sanctuary that celebrates both heritage and innovation. With its seamless blend of classic and contemporary, this home captures the vibrant yet intimate spirit of urban London living.
